Program Description

Extreme Sports Camp is excited to offer our Winter Day Camp for the 2013  season! This program is held in Snowmass, Colorado, one of the world's premier, family-friendly ski resorts just a few miles outside of Aspen.  Our day camp is designed for people anywhere on the autism spectrum, and we are now offering two separate programs tailored to fit the needs of the Youth population (15 years of age and below), and Young Adults (16 years of age and up).  For your convenience,  these two programs are offered simultaneously at the same locations.  Our pioneering methods which combine relationship-based, social-emotional supports, embedded motivators, positive reinforcements, and sports proficiency instruction and analytics are effective for ANY skill level!

You will be welcomed with a meet-and-greet breakfast Monday morning and then enjoy 5 days of skiing and/or snowboarding.  Each session welcomes a maximum of eight campers, each of whom is carefully matched with an Aspen Ski Company Professional Instructor.   Participants and their instructor will ski/ride at their terrain level, and be assisted by ESC trained ski buddies. Campers join our ski staff each morning and enjoy lunch together at one of the Snowmass restaurants, on the mountain. At the ski day's end, campers are dropped off at home base for pick-up and join ESC buddies for our autism-specific après-ski program.

In order to ensure a successful experience with smooth transitions, Extreme Sports Camp has partnered with local vendors in Snowmass Village to allow campers and their families to coordinate and enjoy lodging, meals, caretaking and activities in the immediate Snowmass community.  Many of these components are a la carte, so families can select the options that best fit their needs.
