Daily Activities

Below is a typical schedule for our general camp sessions. The schedule below is also subject to modification based on weather and the needs of individual campers. Specialty sessions will focus on their particular activity each morning & the afternoon will be similar to the general session.

Sunday
3:00-4:30 pm Arrival; unpack; tour of Aspen Camp School for the Deaf
4:30-5:30 pm Orientation
5:30 pm Dinner with instructors, buddies, campers and aides
6:30 pm Camp-based fun activities

Monday
7:30 am Breakfast
8:00 am Leave for rafting on Colorado River
8:30-12:30 Whitewater rafting - Shoshone Rapids in Glenwood Canyon (class I-III rapids)
12:30-1:30 pm Lunch
2:00- 4:00 pm Swimming & giant slides at Glenwood Springs pool
4:30-6:30 pm Bowling with pizza/burger dinner
7:00 pm Return to ACSD

Tuesday
7:30 am Breakfast
8:30 am Depart ACSD for Aspen
9:00-11:00 am Climbing skills clinic
11:30-12:30 Picnic lunch
1:00-3:30 pm Expedition, hiking & bouldering exploration
3:30-5:30 pm Ice skating, swimming, & giant slides at Aspen Recreation Center
6:30 pm Cookout at ACSD

Wednesday
7:30 am Breakfast
8:30 am Depart ACSD
9:00 am-4:00 pm Water skiing & tubing, hiking & picnic lunch at Ruedi Lake
5:00 pm Return to ACSD
5:30 pm Dinner at ACSD
6:30 pm Camp-based fun activities

Thursday
7:30 am Breakfast
8:30 am Leave ACSD for Glenwood Springs
9:45 am Begin trail ascent for Hanging Lake
11:00 am Snack and pictures at Hanging Lake
11:30 am Begin descent back to Glenwood Springs
12:45 pm Picnic lunch
1:30-3:30 pm Glenwood Hot Springs - swimming & giant slides
5:00 pm Arrive at ACSD
5:30 pm Dinner at ACSD
6:30 pm Camp-based fun activities

Friday
7:30 am Breakfast
8:30 am Depart ACSD
9:00-4:00 pm Water skiing & tubing, hiking & picnic lunch at Ruedi Lake
4:00- 5:00 pm Return to ACSD
5:30 pm Barbeque dinner ACSD
6:30 pm Award Ceremony at ACSD – campers receive Certificates of Achievement 

Saturday
7:30 am Breakfast
8:30 am Climbing skills clinic
12:00 pm Lunch and on your own (camp activities end)
